Bahrain ranks 9th in the field of judicial independence; Al-Kuwari praises the leadership’s support for the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary in Bahrain

On the occasion of the World Economic Forum’s announcement of the results of the Global Competitiveness Report 2016-2017 on the ranking indicators of the judiciary, where the kingdom of Bahrain achieved outstanding results to enable it to jump 9 ranks in the field of judicial independence within one year, the Supreme Judicial Council explained during the press conference held yesterday afternoon at the headquarters of the Supreme Judicial Council, that the kingdom of Bahrain ranked 32nd in judicial independence after it was ranked 41st in 2015; The effectiveness of the judicial system in adjudicating disputes ranked 25th from 33rd, and the effectiveness of the administrative judicial system ranked 21st from 28th, and the judicial authority aims to raise the rating of the kingdom of Bahrain to the top twenty countries at the level of the world ranking, which includes 138 countries

As for the Gulf and Arab ranking of the kingdom of Bahrain in the Global Competitiveness Report 2016, the kingdom of Bahrain achieved the fourth place in the independence of the judiciary, the fourth place in the index of the effectiveness of the judicial and legal system in adjudicating disputes, and ranked third in the effectiveness of the administrative judicial system, at the level of the Gulf countries, as for the Arab countries, it ranked fourth in the previous three aspects. The chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, the president of the court of Cassation, Chancellor Salem Bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, starting with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the king of the country, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the prime minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, The Crown Prince, Secretary, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, praised the status of the kingdom of Bahrain in the international framework, and in this context, he explained that the Supreme Judicial Council seeks to ensure Comprehensive Economic Development, in order to achieve the strategic goal of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 through the fair application of laws; which enhances investor confidence, which is in line with the strategy of upgrading the authority and the judicial system to achieve judicial security in support of attracting investment and raising the credit rating of the kingdom of Bahrain.
